What is a ‘placesong’?
It is music, applied, to support a locale, be it open space, natural resources or historic sites.
Placesongs have advocated before civic authorities and commissions; educated through on-line media and live events; enhanced the outreach and media profile of not for profit organizations; and aided in development and fundraising campaigns.
Block associations, community groups, preservation advocates, land trusts and civic alliances have used placesongs to further their missions, broaden their exposure and break through coverage ‘clutter’.
